Wedding Website Wording Examples You Can Copy
Copy wedding website wording for the welcome, schedule, travel, dress code, hotels, gifts and FAQs — written for a phone-first invitation.
Write for the guest who opens it on a train
Wedding website copy fails when it sounds like a brochure or a private joke. Guests open the link on a phone and want four facts: who, when, where, and how to reply. Everything else exists to stop a WhatsApp question.
On The Wedy those facts live in one scrollable invitation, not a menu of tabs. Use the examples below for the welcome, schedule, travel, dress code, hotels, gifts and FAQ sections — then delete any sentence that does not help a guest decide or arrive.
What the first screen must say
The hero only has to do five jobs: names, date, place, tone, and a button toward the RSVP. The Wedy defaults include “We are getting married”, “Confirm attendance” and “Please confirm your attendance.” Keep them if they fit. Change them if your invitation is more formal.
Elena & Pablo
20 June 2026 · Tenerife
Confirm attendance
The shortest complete hero. The date includes the year. The place is a city or venue, not a private nickname.
Together with their families, Elena Martín and Pablo Ruiz request the honour of your presence on Saturday 20 June 2026.
Formal. Pair it with “The favour of a reply is requested” rather than a joke button.

Welcome note wording
The welcome is a short letter, not your love story. The Wedy section is labelled Welcome. Default sample copy is warm and brief. Two or three sentences is enough.
We are so happy to celebrate this day with you. Your presence is the only gift we need. We have planned a long lunch and an evening of dancing — all the details are below.
Safe for almost every guest list. Mentions the shape of the day without a timetable yet.
Welcome to our wedding weekend in Tenerife. Saturday is the ceremony and lunch. If you can join Friday evening or Sunday brunch, those notes are further down. Please RSVP by 1 May.
Destination. Tell people the weekend has more than one event, then point them down the page.
Schedule wording
Guests need arrival time, ceremony, cocktail, dinner and any later event they are invited to. The Wedy schedule is a list of time, event name and an optional line. Do not publish the photographer’s cue sheet.
- 17:30 — Arrival and seating
- 18:00 — Ceremony
- 19:30 — Cocktail
- 21:00 — Dinner
- 23:30 — Dancing
Please arrive by 17:30 so you can find a seat before the ceremony begins at 18:00.
Useful as the ceremony description. “Be on time” is colder and less helpful.
If the after-party is only for some people, leave it off the public schedule or say so in one plain sentence.

Travel and location wording
The location section can hold the ceremony, the reception and a transport note. Write the official venue name, a full address and a map link. “The finca” is not an address.
Ceremony — Iglesia de la Concepción, Calle Cólogan 2, La Orotava. Please arrive by 17:30. A map is below.
Name, address, time, map. That is the whole job.
Buses will leave the hotel at 17:00 for the ceremony, then continue to the reception after the service. Please tell us on the RSVP if you will use a seat.
Transport only earns a paragraph if you are counting seats. The Wedy default note asks guests to confirm the service on the form.
Dress code wording
One word is not a dress code. “Cocktail” means different things in Madrid and Manchester. The Wedy dress-code section has a subtitle, a short body, and optional lines for ladies and gentlemen.
Garden formal. Linen and light layers are welcome. Jackets are optional after dinner. Please avoid white, so the bride can be the only one in it.
Clearer than “formal” and kinder than a colour lecture.
Black tie. Long dress or elegant cocktail for women; dinner jacket for men. The ceremony is in a church, so shoulders covered until the cocktail.
Matches the product default of Formal / Black Tie, with a reason for the extra rule.
Say the rule, then the picture
| Comparison | Weak line | Better line |
|---|---|---|
| Dress code | Cocktail | Cocktail — knee-length or a sharp suit, no beachwear |
| Children | Adults only!!! | This celebration is for adults. Thank you for understanding. |
| Gifts | No gifts!!!! | Your presence is the gift. If you wish to contribute, details are below. |
| Parking | Parking available | Free parking at the finca gate. The last 200 metres are unpaved. |
Hotel and gift wording
Hotels need a name, a distance or area, a booking note and a deadline if you have a room block. The Wedy accommodation section can show a special-guest rate and a coupon code. Do not list a hotel you have not checked.
We have held a small block at Hotel Las Águilas, about ten minutes from the reception. Please book by 15 April and mention the wedding if the hotel asks.
Name, usefulness, date. Enough for most local lists.
Gifts should be optional in the sentence as well as in the heart. The Wedy default gift note says your presence is the best gift, then offers a contribution if people want one. Bank details can sit behind a “show IBAN” control so the page does not open as a spreadsheet.
Your presence is the gift. If you would also like to contribute to our next chapter, you can use the transfer details below. There is no registry.
Warm, and it stops the “what do you want?” messages.
FAQ wording guests actually use
Write FAQs from questions you are already answering. The Wedy FAQ section is a list of question and answer. Sample questions in the product include dress code, ceremony and reception locations, transport, and when guests can confirm.
- What should I wear? — Repeat the dress-code paragraph, do not invent a second one.
- Can I bring a plus-one? — Only if the invitation named them. Otherwise say the invitation is for the people listed.
- Are children invited? — Yes, named children only / This celebration is for adults.
- Is there a bus? — Time, pickup point, and “tell us on the RSVP”.
- When do I need to reply? — “Please confirm your attendance before [date].”
The RSVP sentences themselves — formal, casual, QR — are in wedding RSVP wording examples. What belongs on the page at all is in what to include in a digital wedding invitation.

What to leave unwritten
If it does not help a guest, delete it
- A long how-we-met unless you truly want it
- Hashtags nobody will use
- Colour palettes and mood boards
- Internal vendor cues
- Placeholder hotels marked TBC
- A second dress-code essay that disagrees with the first
A digital invitation can be published before every hotel is booked. Publish the essentials and the RSVP. Add accommodation when the answer is real.
Frequently asked questions
What should a wedding website say?
Names, date, venues, times and how to RSVP. Then add a short welcome, a schedule, travel notes, dress code, hotels if people are staying over, a gift line if you need one, and FAQs you are already answering.
How long should a wedding website welcome be?
Two or three sentences. Guests did not come for a memoir. Save the longer story for speeches if you want one.
How do I write a wedding dress code?
Name the level — black tie, garden formal, cocktail — then add one concrete picture and any real constraint, such as a church, grass or heat.
What FAQ questions belong on a wedding website?
Dress code, children, plus-ones, parking or buses, and the RSVP date. If nobody has asked it, it does not need a heading.
Is a wedding website different from a digital invitation on The Wedy?
No. The invitation is the guest-facing site: one designed page with sections for details, schedule, location, dress code, hotels, gifts, FAQ and RSVP.
Can I write the site in two languages?
Yes. The Wedy invitations can run in two languages. Repeat the deadline and the dress code in both so nobody has to guess.
